European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) set up a "Task Force" in the aftermath of Germanwings accident on March, 2015. According to the recommendation 6 of the report published on 16 July 2015, the Task Force recommends for all airline operators to put in place a pilot support program, that is transparent and independent, implemented in a safe and non-punitive work environment, ensuring complete privacy, without compromising the Just Culture.
The requirement for Airline Operators to implement and maintain pilot support system is adopted by EU Commission with Commission Regulation (EU) 2018/1042 of 23 July 2018.
